Boosting High School Programs
The Tiger Booster Club is a non-profit organization that has been "boosting" opportunities for students- athletic and extra-curricular - at South Pasadena High School since the early 1960s. It helps fund the band, 16 athletic teams, grad night, individual classes and all clubs.
The Tiger Booster Club purchases materials and services to augment district funding. In the school year 1999-2000, the Booster Club paid for a sports trainer, refinished the gym floor, published the football homecoming program and schedules for three athletic seasons, donated money towards the building of a new stadium press box, funded new equipment for the new weight training room and sponsored the Tiger 5-10K Run, in addition to many other donations.
The Club raises most of its funds through Bingo Night, held every Saturday night in the High School gym. By working at Tiger Bingo Night, students and their parents can raise significant amounts of money for their designated group. Every time a student and his or her parent work at Bingo Night, Booster Club "credits" their organization of choice with funds.
